Samsung SGH-P960 Mobile TV Phone

Samsung’s SGH-P960 TV cell phone is due to hit Europe next month and, apart from serving as a traditional slider type cell phone (see specifications below) its most notable feature is its ability to offer TV on the go courtesy of its DVB-H TV broadcast receiver and support of European DVB-CBMS and OMA-BCAST mobile TV standards – making it the first slider type cell phone to offer mobile TV in Europe.

As a result of its mobile TV capabilities, one of the main visual characteristics of Samsung’s SGH-P960 is the rotating, back mounted antenna which stores neatly when not required but, apart from this somewhat obvious addition, there is little to tell this handset apart from none DVB-H TV devices apart from a TV-out port and the addition of a shortcut key allowing one touch access to DVB-H broadcasts.

Measuring in at a mere 102 x 53 x 16.5mm, the SGH-P960 sports a 256K colour 2.6” QVGA 240 x 320 resolution TFT screen, offers high speed data transfer courtesy of HSDPA 3G connectivity and comes with integrated 3 megapixel 2048×1536 resolution camera and, naturally, Bluetooth, as well as an inbuilt FM tuner complete with RDS and MP3 player – a handy backup should you find that receivable DVB-H TV broadcasts are a little thin on the ground (which, depending on where you live in Europe, we suspect that you probably will).

Levis Red Tab Phone

evi’s is a brand with which all of us associate. From an array of products like jeans, shirts, shoes, vests, skirts etc. all or at least most of us have some Levi’s in our closets. But the latest Levi’s to own is the Levi's ultra limited edition Red Tab mobile phone. And true to its name, this cell phone will catch everyone’s attention to the red tab featured on the top. And if you are interested in knowing its functional features then here it is. It packs a MP3 player, stereo Bluetooth and a two megapixel camera with flash.

Extras include a 'premium' presentation box, a case for the handset, stereo hands free kit, a metal chain and if you like, customization with your name (up to 13 letters). Alcatel Sharper Image 909TSI Signature collection

Along with the Pink, Gold and Platinum Playboy phones Alcatel also unveiled the Sharper Image 909TSI a super light weight candybar phone covered in 24k gold or Platinum. The specs are disappointing as the Quad Band GSM handset comes with a sub-standard 2 Megapixel camera, flimsy keys, small screen, Bluetooth and memory card slot. The phones will be available later this year at Sharper Image and Sears stores.

Hummer HT2 Phone

The next version of the Hummer Phone marches out into the open with the strength and style of the Hummer itself. It boasts of 500 hours of working time on a full tank of juice and features dual SIM. It is not whether the phone supports Dual GSM or GSM + CDMA, its predecessor Hummer HT1 was GSM. It's armed with a 2 megapixel camera and a MP3 player. Other features include Bluetooth, 11 MB of built-in memory and a microSD card slot to scale up the memory capacity. The screen specs impress with a 176 x 220 pixel TFT display that supports 256,000 colors. The specs match the earlier rendition of the Hummer that called itself the 'fashion phone' a lot. The only difference here is the missing 'fashion' quotient. The HT2 Hummer phone follows the massive success of the Hummer HT1 that sold 50,000 pieces. We can expect the HT2 in Russia by the first quarter of this year.
